Earlier today, Yahoo has announced another acquisition. This time it is about Flickr. Yahoo has acquired iOS camera app maker GhostBird Software for an undisclosed sum.
Yahoo announced the acquisition through Twitter. It tweeted, “Today we acquired @GhostBirdSoft for @Flickr. Get ready to see your mobile photos in a whole new light!” A notice on GhostBird’s website has also been posted.
GhostBird software is the maker of KitCam and PhotoForge2 camera apps for iOS. The apps are used for adding effects and editing photos. Apparently, Yahoo wants to enhance mobile photography experiences in Flickr apps. For that the media company has also hired app creators Travis Houlette and Ye Lu, according to CNET.
GhostBird’s KitCam and PhotoForge2 app has already been removed from the App Store. But users who have already downloaded the apps can continue to use those on their mobile.
