Here are some great news for the owners of certain Samsung handsets. An insider has now claimed that the company would release an update for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S3 later this year and that this update would directly bring Android 4.3 to these handsets, skipping over Android 4.2.2.
If the claims made by this alleged insider prove true, this means that the owners of the aforementioned handsets won’t have to wait for the Android 4.2.2 update. They will directly be able to access Android 4.3. However, they will have to wait until October or November to lay their hands on it.
The tipster has also made the rather extra-ordinary claim that Samsung will also upgrade Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2 as well as an upcoming Galaxy Note 3 directly to Android 5.
However, for these rumors to prove true, a lot will rely on Google. Samsung may have its own plans, but until Google gives the nod for these Android update roll-outs, Samsung can’t really do much.
What makes these rumors somewhat dubious is that Google hasn’t even divulged the exact release schedule for the Key Lime Pie version of Android. So any claims about the roll-out of the upgrade will, at best, be based on speculation.
