Chinese authorities recently shut down a very popular hacker training and resource website in China named Black Hawk Safety Net. The site, 3800hk.com, was taken down, their nine servers seized and three of the site’s operators were arrested. The website was extremely popular among Chinese hackers, and just before being shut down had 12,000 paying and 170,000 non-paying members. This is an admirable move by the Chinese government, which has itself been suspected by Western authorities of using hackers to attack US government and private networks.
