On Monday, The Windows Blog announced that the Microsoft is starting a special pricing promotion for windows 8 Pro upgrade for all users currently on Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP. According to Windows communication manager Brandon LeBlanc announced the news through a blog post. Users currently on Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 will be able to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for just $39.99 (£25).
The offered package will include free Media Center software. The upgrade will be offered via manual download or Upgrade Assistant. For a packaged DVD version of the upgrade users will have to pay an extra $30. That is, the total package with DVD will be $69.99 (around £45).
Depending on which version of Windows is being moved to Windows 8, users will have the option of keeping their past files and applications. Windows XP users will be able to bring their personal files, whereas Windows Vista users will be able to bring their personal files and Windows settings, but no applications. The upgrade promotion for Windows 8 Pro will run through 31 January, 2013.
