Because Dell has taken a decision to upgrade yet-to-be-shipped Sandy Bridge CPU based Alienware laptops to Ivy Bridge CPU based ones without any extra charge.
Ivy Bridge CPUs, which started shipping couple of weeks ago, are able to perform 20 percent better, compared to previous processors. And the capability of managing a multitude of multimedia functions is also a plus point. Seems like, Dell hasn’t taken a bad decision after all.
To declare the addition of Ivy Bridge processors, Alienware.com advertises the tagline “Introducing the new 3rd generation Intel core i processors. Now on our newest lineup of compatible Alienware systems, so you can always game victorious.”
