Compared to the traditional backlit LCD panels, the E Ink is considered as better for display technology for e-readers because of its superior text display quality. But the downside is that devices like the E Ink Kindle line needs exterior illumination while using it. Fortunately Amazon has planned to overcome this with the help of a company named Oy Modilis.

The technology provides adjustable ‘soft glow’ that made text much more readable in low-light conditions. They uses such a material in laminated from that E Ink screen that diffuses light evenly across its surface diffuses light evenly across the surface of E Ink screen. It has been reported that the device is to be released later this year.
