iPad 3 Retina Display With 2048 x 1536-Pixel Resolution Confirmed

For long we have been hearing rumors about the display resolution of the upcoming Apple tablet, iPad 3. Nearly all news sources as well as analysts had speculated the the next tablet will feature a 2048 x 1536-pixel Retina display, a display that will be very much more clearer that iPad 2 and will be able to run 1080p content. Now, Macrumors has published an interesting analysis of the panels of iPad 2 and iPad 3 and has definitively given the verdict that iPad 3 will indeed feature the display we have been talking about.

On the outlook, the panels of both tablet’s display look quite similar and one may think that the displays of both are same. However, MacRumors examined these panels under microscope. And that reveals the big secret. The microscopic examination reveals that the size of pixels on iPad 3 display is nearly one-quarter that of the size of pixels on iPad 2 display. This means that where iPad 2 had one pixel, iPad 3 has four! This definitely confirms the rumors that iPad 3 has a Retina display.

We believe that with this display, we can very much hope that the rumors of iPad 3 using A6 processors will also turn out to be true. After all, the tablet will require a next-generation processor to use 1080p content on a screen with such high resolution. Other possible specifications of iPad 3 include 4G LTE, better cameras and a larger battery.
