A low-end Android tablet from MSI flying through the FCC as fast as its single-core 1GHz Cortex A8 CPU and 512MB of RAM. Inside you’ll find Bluetooth and WiFi antennas, as well as enough room for a full-sized SD card and this model only supports sizes up to 8GB. Up front you’ll find a camera for video chatting and a 10-inch screen sporting a rather uninspiring 800×480 resolution……………
The new tablet is listed as being model number MS-N0Y1 and it has been seen on the FCC.gov website where the tablet was tested and approved for sale in the US. In testing the main specifications for the tablet were leaked along with a look at the tablet, its power adapter, USB sync cables and bundled headphones. According to the FCC filing the MSI MS-N0Y1 boasts some very meager specifications. Inside the tablet there is a 1GHz single core ARM Cortex-A8 processing chip from the Rocketchip company, a 10-inch 800×480 resolution touchscreen LCD, 512MB of RAM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built-in, a full-sized SD card slot with support for up to 8GB, a front and rear facing cameras and a customized version of Google’s Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread operating system is running on the tablet. In the design department this tablet looks every bit the part of a budget tablet. On the front and sides MSI has used glossy plastic and on the back some matte finished plastic with a finish that gives the look of metal. If MSI goes ahead and prices the MS-N0Y1 at $150 or less the tablets glaring faults don’t look so bad, because most of the tablets in that price range have these same faults if not worse.
