Facebook has announced an upcoming event on September 22 and it could be the release of the iPad App. Facebook holds f8 when the website has something to talk about that developers will care about and the f8 conference typically starts off with a keynote by Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, followed by various breakout sessions concentrating on specific topics………….

Facebook is holding its traditional developer event, known as f8 on September 22nd in San Francisco and out of the additions that might be introduced there, a Facebook client for the iPad seems to be the most obvious one. Facebook, founded way back in 2004, has come a long way since those early days, in part thanks to the developers who have created great applications for the site. The f8 conference is aimed at getting all those interested in developing Facebook apps or integrating the social network into their own websites together, in order to showcase Facebook’s newest feature additions. At the last f8, which took place in April last year, the company introduced the new Like feature, allowing users to spread the word about a website, brand, product, video or any kind of online content, on their personal Facebook profile. This year’s f8 will take place at the San Francisco Design Center, the largest stage ever used for this event, suggesting that Facebook is expecting more attendees this time around. Much like what happened in previous years, this event will focus on demonstrating new tools within the site, ways to work more efficiently with the current ones and as well as live Q&A sessions, allowing developers to ask questions from the Facebook crew, as pointed out on f8′s official website:

f8 is for developers, entrepreneurs and innovators building a more social web by defining tomorrow’s websites, apps and devices. This all day event will feature keynotes and session tracks that highlight our new and existing tools for developers and partners building the next generation of social experiences.

If you’re planning to attend this event and haven’t purchased your $400-ticket yet, you might be sad to know that tickets are already sold out. If you already own your ticket, expect to experience many as of yet unknown new features first hand. Perhaps we’ll finally see the long-rumored Facebook client for the iPad, despite Mark Zuckerberg’s repeated assertions that Apple’s iPad device didn’t fit the category of a mobile device, therefore the development was let down, apparently. Yet, evidence has shown that users do want a client that takes advantage of the larger screen real estate to display more content in better ways. Indeed, we know for a fact that Facebook has been developing  its iPad client for quite some time, and is in fact hidden inside its iPhone app and Facebook’s latest event was a smaller one but the announcement was rather huge, held at the company’s own headquarters in Palo Alto, CA, where it showed off enhancements to Facebook Chat, including a partnership with Skype to build two-way video conferencing right into Facebook.
