Facebook Is Working On ‘Want’ Button, Will Show User Wish Lists

Facebook is testing a new plugin called ‘Want’. It is expected that within a short time, the button will be visible in Facebook plugin list. Tom Waddington, a web developer of Cut Out + Keep website first noticed that a new ‘want’ button has been added to Facebook’s JavaScript coding list and it has been disabled. By using this plugin, Facebook wants to know users product choosing behavior as well as giving users the freedom to see what products his/her friends want to buy.

Mr. Waddington has tried to install the Want button in his blog and he has repeatedly seen an error message during the installation. Waddington said, “The button displays on the site, but clicking it shows an error message, Facebook hasn’t enabled any apps to publish Wants yet.”

As a social plugin, the button has not been listed on Facebook’s developer page. Waddington said that the new Want button will, perhaps, work on Open Graph projects with the list of products alongside advertisers will be benefited.

Facebook revealed it’s position on the issue saying, “We’re always testing new Platform features, However, we have nothing new to announce.”
