Ever since the tragic incident of 9/11, US authorities have laid an unusual stress on the need for tighter airport security. Despite that, anyone can create a bomb after having passed through airport security, reveals a Vice video.
Most of the times, security is simply meant to be of such a grade as to thwart most threats. However, no amount of security can essentially take care of all potential threats, including any specifically improvised techniques or methods.
Evan Booth is a researcher who tinkers with such flaws in the security to highlight them. This time, he passed the airport security and then bought such components from airport stores that enabled him to create all sorts of dangerous things.
These dangerous things range from a special bow to explosives, bombs and more. Booth says that it is apalling how airport security is meant to whisk off any potential threats and yet, any person can go buy all the ingredients for making a bomb after having passed through this security layer.
In his own words, “Hopefully this work will just serve as good, solid information for people who make [airport security] decisions to make better decisions.” This also serves as a reminder that having people take their boots off and other similar trivial measures are essentially useless, when they are countermanded by such lapses in security as are highlighted in the video posted above.
