Space Shuttle ‘Atlantis’ And ‘Discovery’ Face To Face

You might see ‘Atlantis’ or ‘Discovery’ individually. But did you see those two space shuttle together? Really tough to see them together. Here, you can see these two monsters very closely. For the first and last time, Atlantic is facing with her sister ship Discovery nose to nose. ‘Atlantis’ and ‘Discovery’ both are the space shuttle orbiter.

The space shuttle Discovery was in Orbital Processing Facility 1 (OPF-1) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Atlantis, sister ship of Discovery was in Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB). Last week, a task had been given to the team of OPA-1 and VAB. Their task was, they had to swapping the two space shuttle orbiter’s position from one building to the other building.

Though, the task might seem very simple, but actually it was not. While they were doing this, at certain point, they put Atlantis and Discovery face to face for the first time. Unfortunately, it was their last meeting too. To know more, visit here.
