Lately NASA announced that Mars rover Opportunity found a mysterious rock on that red planet, which was not there at first, but later ‘appeared.’ Many people assumed that an alien might have placed the rock there, but NASA simply said that Opportunity might have knocked the rock out of the ground, but it didn’t notice then, noticed later. Such an explanation of NASA poked Rhawn Joseph, a man who calls himself a scientist, so much that he filed a lawsuit against NASA, mentioning that the agency is “failing to investigate alien life.”
Water is essential for supporting life (don’t know about aliens). If a planet contains water, that bears the sign that it may capable to support life. However, NASA believes that Mars has the capability to support life or once upon a time, it had supported life. The ancient lakebed found by Curiosity on Mars hints that the it might have supported life on Mars 3.6 billion years ago. But due to geological facts, temperatures, environment and others, Mars is not habitable for human beings, at least till now. However, lets’s say, the ancient lakebed had supported life. But the big question is – whom had the ancient lakebed supported? Any human? Or aliens?
Well the answer of that question is still in shadow. But Mars rover Opportunity pinched that matter again. On December 26, 2013, Opportunity, which has been on Mars for more than 10 years snapped some pictures surrounding the Murray Ridge area. The above picture (left image) tells that there was nothing except the Martian soil. But interestingly, on January 8, 2014, Opportunity discovered a jelly doughnut shaped mysterious rock at the same place (right image) after it had finished a short drive. NASA scientists named that rock as “Pinnacle Island” and explained that Opportunity didn’t notice the rock while knocked out of the ground, but later (Jan 8) it noticed.
Rhawn Joseph, who is involved with the Journal of Cosmology, couldn’t accept such explanation of NASA as he believes that aliens do exist in other planets. According to him, the rock (Pinnacle Island) was actually a living thing. It was there for long time and was waiting for growing up to be visible. And finally it did, but NASA didn’t pay any importance to that rock.
Therefore, he filed a lawsuit in a California court in order to compel NASA to examine the rock more closely. The lawsuit says NASA and its administrator, Charles Bolden, to “perform a public, scientific, and statutory duty which is to closely photograph and thoroughly scientifically examine and investigate a putative biological organism. The refusal to take close up photos from various angles, the refusal to take microscopicimages of the specimen, the refusal to release high resolution photos, is inexplicable, recklessly negligent, and bizarre.”
That’s not all. Joseph even contacted multiple NASA employees and provided them with said evidence, but they didn’t pay any heed to his words. Here is the full lawsuit.
