Cloud computing has been gaining traction over the recent few years. With Apple’s iCloud and Microsoft’s cloud computing solution being used by thousands of users, it is fast becoming an essential part of the computing experience. Now, ASUS has announced that it will be jumping the cloud bandwagon soon by unveiling its cloud computing solution in coming June.
This latest announcement from ASUS comes on the occasion of Business Next even in Taiwan. Chairman of ASUS, Jonney Shih made the announcement without elaborating much over it. He stated, ‘ASUS believes in the open philosophy, we will unveil our total solution for the ubiquitous cloud computing at Computex this year.’
The claims of a ‘total solution’ are rather meaningful. Could this mean that ASUS has plans of launching a cloud solution that will work seamlessly across all of ASUS devices? Something like a Windows version of iCloud? Because with the competitive cloud offerings becoming more and more sophisticated, ASUS will really need to take the bar high to attract users.
Moreover, ASUS’ cloud solution will essentially be compared to iCloud which hosts a whole lot of features such as movies, music in the cloud etc. ASUS has to include such features if it wants a solid start in the world of cloud computing.
