Twitter’s Mobile Revenue Rises, Experiences More Than 400 Million Tweets Per Day

Very few companies have been able to transition from a web-based start to a mobile-based solid presence. And Twitter happens to be one of them. Not only the company is doing great in terms of growth of users base and engagement, it is also adapting beautifully to the realm of mobile platform, making handsome money on the way.

Last year in October, Twitter revealed that the traffic on the website mounted to some 250 million tweets per day. That was a huge number but the company has far greater plans than that. Then in April this year, we were told by an analytic company that Twitter had reached a whopping 340 million tweets per day.

That, too, was huge. But again, for Twitter, the sky seemed to be the limit. Now it has been revealed that Twitter has already surpassed the mark of 400 million tweets per day!!

According to the CEO, Dick Costolo, “(Twitter ads are) inherently suited to mobile because Tweets are suited for mobile even though we launched first on the web and only started to run on mobile a few months ago. It’s already been the case a couple weeks ago that mobile ad revenue in a day was greater than non mobile. Mobile revenue is already doing delightfully well.”

But that is not the end of it. Not only has the user engagement increased tremendously, the mobile apps and mobile website of the company is also doing incredibly great. Or at least so in the world of Costolo who recently stated, “Mobile revenue is already doing delightfully well.”

According to Costole, the user engagement is far more when they log in from their mobile. This may suggest the surge in user engagement as well as that in mobile revenue which, for the first time, has exceeded Twitter’s non-mobile revenue.
