LibreOffice 3.5.4 Releases With Up To 100% Performance Improvement

The Document Foundation has released the LibreOffice 3.5.4. The new release is the fifth subversion of the free office suite’s 3.5 family. The most catchy thing about the new release is its tremendous performance improvement over previous versions. Through the relentless efforts of the developers and volunteers a performance improvement of up to 100 percent is realized. Before the final release, the developers has fixed number of bugs in the RC1 and RC2. LibreOffice 3.5.4 is available for download at the project’s website.

The new LibreOffice 3.5.4’s performance improvement is the joint result of the many code optimizations executed during the last months and regression chasing activity performed regularly by volunteers and developers. The performance improvement, however, depends on operating system, hardware configuration and file contents also.

The Document Foundation also announced the worldwide LibreOffice conference date in this occasion. The conference will be held in Berlin, Germany, from October 17th to 19th, 2012. Program details will be available soon at http://conference.libreoffice.org.
