Imagine using a feature in your phone which you are told is wonderful. However, when you use that feature, it turns out that it is not as wonderful or as exciting as you had imagined it. Does that mean you are allowed to sue the vendor? Apparently, in the case of Apple’s Siri, one user thinks so.

The lawsuit has been filed by one Frank Fazio. Fazio has launched a federal class action lawsuit against Apple over allegations that Apple has been creasing such Siri commercials which are ‘fundamentally and designedly false and misleading.’

What is rather confusing here is that Fazio isn’t very clear on what it is that has annoyed him. Whether it was that Siri couldn’t understand his speech or did it not provide him with the right directions or search results, that much is unclear.

Nonetheless, the point is that Apple never said Siri was perfect. In fact, right from the start, everyone knew that Siri, while being the best voice-based personal assistant that we have, wasn’t perfect just yet. Siri, fundamentally, ‘learns over time’ and adopts to the user’s voice, being able to understand it better over a longer period of time. And that is what makes Siri more of an evolving feature.

So while a class action lawsuit against something wrong with a product or a service is very valid and must be brought forth, such lawsuits only result in wasting time and money of both parties.
