YouTube Launches New Guide To Help You Discover Videos And Channels

YouTube has been periodically changing its look and tweaking its features to make itself more user-friendly and appealing. The last major upgrade saw YouTube channels being highlighted in particular. And now, it has dished out a new Guide to help users find new videos.

YouTube Guide

Whenever you subscribe a new YouTube channel, the Guide is updated so that when a new video is added to that channel, the Guide alerts you. Moreover, the Guide is not only available on the web version of YouTube but also across all other devices.

In a recent blog post by YouTube’s Josh Sassoon said, “Today, we’re taking the next step by bringing your subscription-filled Guide with you across both the site and all devices, as your best source of what to watch on YouTube.”

He further elaborates on how the Guide works, “Just subscribe to your favorite channels and the Guide lets you know when there are new videos waiting for you to enjoy, suggests the latest and greatest channels you might like, and shows you what your friends are sharing across the web.”

If you think that the Guide is going to be a nagging, annoying feature, don’t worry because it isn’t. It is simply positioned at the top left corner. Another significant design amendment made by YouTube is that from now on, video titles will be positioned below them, not above them. This lets you immediately view the video when you log on to a YouTube page.
