It has been a month since Barnes & Noble quietly removed Nook apps for PC and Mac from its website. Yesterday, it was officially confirmed that the bookseller won’t support the apps any longer.
Instead the focus has now shifted towards web-based reading on the computer. Instead of the two apps mentioned above, users now have options to read ebooks from Barnes & Noble through Nook for Web and Nook for Windows 8 apps on PC and Mac.
The move has, however, angered some customers. Enraged customers were found letting out their frustration on B&N’s forum.
Users have also devised a temporary workaround to read ebooks from B&N on PC or Mac. This is by using Nookstudy app for PC or Mac.
