According to China Times reports the iPhone 5 has entered trial production is scheduled for wide scale release in Q3 of this year. The report also suggests that the iPhone 5 will have a metal chassis to improve antenna sensitivity as well as a scratch resistant 4-inch touch screen.
As i previously reported that the iPhone 5 will mostly be similar to an iPhone 4s, with the major differences being a slightly larger 4-inch touchscreen in the same form factor (accomplished by having less room between the side bezels of the device), as well as a metal chassis to make the device lighter and improve antenna sensitivity.
The iPhone 5 will also come with a new ‘edge-to-edge’ screen. This new design will allow Apple to offer a larger, 4-inch screen, without increasing the size of the phone. The device will also sport the new Apple A5 processor already featured in the iPad 2.
Foxconn, a Taiwan-based electronics company, assembles all iPhone, iPod and iPad on behalf of Apple. The company is also used by Apple to build all of its prototypes, months before the final designs enter mass production.
