Samsung is pretty well-known for it’s anti-Apple ads. These ads usually mock Apple by citing different features that Samsung’s smartphones have but Apple’s iPhone doesn’t and are regularly released now and then by Samsung. Now, Samsung has released yet another Samsung Galaxy II ad which mocks the lack of GPS navigation in Apple smartphones. Samsung has yet to release the Super Bowl spot which will most probably take another jibe at Apple.
In the ad, few Apple fans are waiting on the side-lines for the release of the latest iPhone. A person passes by who is the room-mate of one of the waiting fellows. His Samsung Galaxy II phone suddenly announces the launch of turn-by-turn navigation. When the people waiting for iPhone hear about it, they are surprised. The Samsung user tells them this is a built-in with Samsung S II and mocks them further by saying that he needs no third-party app to use this feature, unlike Apple.
As a result, his friend remarks, ‘Oh, we just got Samsung-ed!’
This is clearly a way by Samsung to advertise the many different built-in apps of Samsung. Apple usually requires getting apps from it’s App Store, mostly third-party apps. And Samsung has targeted that in this latest ad.
But some Samsung users may not be happy with their company indulging in such humor. At Samsung’s Facebook fan, some Samsung users did complain the many different problems occurring in Samsung S phones.
