Audi Introduces Electronic E-Bike That Could Be Controlled With A Smartphone

Audi is known for pulling in a lot of innovations to the machines it creates. The automaker has been integrating technology right at the heart of its vehicles. Now, the company has plans of unveiling its e-bike in the coming week. The e-bike is a highly advanced bike which can be controlled right from the smartphone of the user.

The debut of the e-bike is scheduled for the next week and it is definitely going to be a very interesting event. At the event will be biker Julien Dupont as well as the downhill specialist Petra Bernhard. The two professionals will demonstrate their biking skills and stunts on Audi’s e-bike.

According to the Head of Design at Audi, Wolfgang Eggerstated, “As a high-performance e-bike for sports and trick cycling, it features the Audi core competencies of design, ultra, e-tron and connect.”

The bike is indeed a piece of art in itself. It weighs a mere 24 pounds and its frame has been made up of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer. Moreover, the center of gravity of the bike has been kept quite low. This ensure a very agile drive and makes the bike a great fit for professional bikers with its 26-inch wheels which ensures maximum distance covered with minimum pedalling.

The bike has a 2.3 kW electric motor which is able to thrust the rear wheel and can speed up the ride. The battery needs a mere 2.5 hours to charge up fully. Moreover, the excellent thing about the bike is that it comes with a smartphone of its own which can be used to control the bike. So far, there is no official word on availability or pricing of the bike but we are all ears.
