Apple released a new build for OS users, OS X 10.7.3 update. It was touted as an update which will bring a number a fixes to Mac OS. However, immediately after the release, the users started responding that this upgrade was causing their systems to crash. Those who went for the Combo Update download didn’t suffer from these problems. So now, Apple has pulled off the delta upgrade and anyone who tries to download is redirected to the Combo update page.
The problems of crashing occurred specifically for those users who downloaded the OS X 10.7.3 delta upgrade. The Combo Update, in contrast, turned out to be fairly stable as there were no significant problems reported by users who downloaded it.
So now, responding to the users’ feedback, Apple has pulled off the delta upgrade. For those users who are using Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 or earlier versions, the update that appears in Software Update is the Combo update and not the delta upgrade. The Combo Update is sized at 1.34 GB.
Also, the users who recently attempted to download the original release, the delta upgrade, are redirected to another page where they can download Combo Update. If you downloaded the delta upgrade earlier and are facing any problems, it’s better that you switch to Combo update. However, if you haven’t downloaded either of the versions yet, it’s better to wait for a while. We hope Apple will soon release the same delta upgrade with fixes.
