Apple is reportedly still signing the iOS 4.1 firmware for the iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 2G and this is very interesting as if you have upgraded to iOS 4.3.5/4.3.4, you may downgrade to iOS 4.1 without any problems and untether jailbreak your device…………
Apple supposedly is still signing iOS 4.1 for the iPhone 3GS and this is huge for those of you that are currently dropping dollar bills on the 3GS to find yourself with a strict tether only jailbreak. You’ll be able to downgrade to 4.1 and save your SHSH blobs giving you the ability to downgrade at any point and time in the future. This might not sound like much, but if you buy a newer model 3GS that comes pre-installed with 4.3.5, you are stuck with a tethered jailbreak. This gives you the chance to rock an untethered jailbreak without losing many features. This also gives you the option to downgrade at any point and time in the future, even if Apple stops signing it (as long as you save your SHSH blobs). This works on any device that supports the 4.1 FW that does not have the Apple A4 processer (excluding the iPad 2). A reader over at iDownloadBlog is reporting the news. Head on in for what Burge had to say in a comments section at iDB:
I’ve found out awhile ago that Apple was still signing off firmware 4.1 for my 3GS , I’ve used SHSHit app to test this a few times now for the last 3 weeks and Apple is still signing it off..so if i’am right if you get a iPhone on 4.3.4/4.3.5 there is a very good chance that you could downgrade your device to 4.1 and have a untethered jailbreak..and you will be able to save those SHSH’s
