Rumors suggest that Apple will be launching the next iPhone later this year. Earlier, we also reported that Apple ordered 15m units of iPhone 5 from a Taiwanese company and today, more reports emerge that the upcoming iPhone will be thinner than iPhone 4.
Wall Street Journal reports that Apple will launch iPhone 5 which will be thinner and lighter than iPhone 4 and will have an 8 Mp camera.
According to WSJ
According to some suppliers of components to Apple, the new version of the iPhone is expected to be thinner and lighter than the iPhone 4 and sport an 8-megapixel camera. One person said the new iPhone will operate on Qualcomm Inc.’s wireless baseband chips. The current iPhone 4 uses memory chips made by Samsung Electronics Co. and baseband chips from German chip maker Infineon Technologies AG, according to a report by market-research firm iSuppli Corp. Officials at both companies declined to comment.
Other features which were revealed earlier include A5 processor and may also move to 64 GB storage. One of the suppliers of Apple also reported that the company ordered them to prepare almost 25m units by the end of this year. Many hints like these do give us an expression that the new iPhone will be launched this year but there is no official statement regarding the launch.
