Pod2g has been working on untethered jailbreak for A5 chips. He earlier ran into A5 cache issues which he eventually resolved but hasn’t been able to accomplish A5 untethered jailbreak. He did post that he was having some progress on the jailbreak and that the users will soon hear good news. In his recent post, Pod2g has answered some queries of the users regarding the progress of his untethered jailbreak for A5 devices.
Pod2g responded to the questions that have been often asked him by the users through comments or emails. He first dealt with the question that some users asked him how come he had an untethered iPhone 4S while he was unable to release the same for all users. Pod2g said that his untethered iPhone 4S is a result of a developer account and so, can’t be utilized by the common user. He also mentioned another iOS developer, @MuscleNerd, who had an untethered iPad 2, also achieved through a developer account.
Pod2g further said that he has been unable to find a tethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S and so, we haven’t received any jailbreak, not even a tethered jailbreak from him, for iPhone 4S. Pod2g says that he hasn’t been able to find a exploit that will let him complete the untethered jailbreak and that he’s still looking for one. So users may still have to wait a while before they get untethered jailbreak for A5 devices.
