Earlier this year, Acer introduced the Aspire Timeline Ultra M3, the world’s first Ultrabook with dedicated graphics. Just a few months later, the company unveiled its sequel – Aspire Timeline Ultra M5 – at Computex earlier this month. Aspire Timeline Ultra M5 will hit the streets of United States by the end of June with reasonable base prices starting at $680.

The new Aspire Timeline Ultra M5 series will come in 14″ and 15.6″ versions. There are two types of 14″ Aspire Timeline Ultra M5. The 14″ M5 that has 1366 x 768 pixel display, Intel Core i3-2377M Sandy Bridge processor, 6 GB of memory, and Intel HD 3000 graphics will cost $680. The $780 model will have a faster Intel Core i5-3317U Ivy Bridge processor, NVIDIA GeForce GT640M graphics, 1GB of video memory, and 4GB of RAM. Both $680 and $780 14″ ultrabooks weigh 4.3 pounds and have 0.81″ thickness.

The 15.6″ Aspire Timeline Ultra M5 model will come with a 1366 x 768 pixel display, Core i5-3317U CPU, 6 GB of RAM, and GeForce GT640M graphics. It will cost $830 and weighs 5.07 pounds. It will also have 0.81″ thickness.

Two different 14″ and 15.6″ versions of Aspire Timeline Ultra M5 will have eight hours of battery life. All of the devices will have optical disc drives, 500GB hard drives and 20GB solid state disks for cache, smart connect, 2 USB 3.0 ports and rapid start capabilities. Acer will also introduce the M5 ultrabook line in Canada, but Canadian people will get three different models – $800 ultrabook with a 14 inch display and Core i5 Ivy Bridge CPU, a $1000 model with a 14 inch screen, NVIDIA graphics, and 128GB solid state disk, and a $1300 version with a Core i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU, and 256GB SSD.

The ultra-thin profile of the Ultra M5 Series delivers a minimalist, modern look. The stylish silver cover is made of an aluminum alloy that not only looks modern and elegant, but adds to the system’s overall sturdiness. Because the technology is built right into the BIOS, it’s activated as soon as the machine is turned on-even before startup. It works without Internet access and is hardware based, so it is tamper resistant.
