Chromebooks Now Available At Walmart And Staple

Until now, Chromebooks were found only at Best Buy, Amazon and Google Play Store. But last Monday, David Shapiro, Director of Chromebook Marketing at Google, said in a blog post that the company is expanding its Chromebook availability. Now the Chromebooks are available in Walmart and Staples.

Walmart has started selling 16 GB SSD equipped Acer Chromebook for $199 at its 2,800 stores across the U.S. This Chromebook model comes with an 11.6-inch screen providing a resolution of 1366 x 768, a dual-core Intel Celeron processor, Gigabit Ethernet and dual-band Wireless N networking, an HD camera, three USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI port and one VGA port. Additional models will be added to the company’s laptop sections later on this summer.

On the other side, Staples will start selling Chromebook from Acer, HP and Samsung at its every store in the U.S. from this weekend. These Chromebooks can also be purchased through Staples online, while businesses can purchase units through the Staples Advantage B2B program.

In the coming months, Chromebooks will also be sold at Office Depot, OfficeMax. Besides, regional chains Fry’s and TigerDirect will also begin selling the Chrome OS notebooks in the near future.
