We have been listening about the new, redesigned Samsung series 9 laptops. While so far no definite release date has been given by Samsung, the good news for fans and prospective buyers are that the availability of the device may be some time soon now. This can be said because now Samsung has started accepting pre-orders for the series 9 laptops.
One of the notable electronics retailers, J & R, has put up the 13.3-inch and 15-inch laptops of the series 9 for pre-order. The devices are priced at $1,399.99 and $1,499.99 respectively. Previously it had been said that most probably these laptops will be available towards the close of February. However, J & R hasn’t given a definite date on which those who have pre-ordered the device will finally be able to get it.
The laptops in series 9 are quite close to being ultra-thin and are very light. The 13.3-inch model weighs about 2.5 pounds while the 15-inch model weighs about 3.5 pounds. The specifications of both models are also fairly good, putting them a notch above the regular laptops. Both come with an Intel 1.6GHz Core i5 processor and a 128GB SSD. It has been claimed that these specifications will enable the laptops to boot Windows 7 or 8 within 9.8 seconds, a claim which seems very ludicrous but may well be true.
The release date of the laptops will most probably be some time in March because for now, the laptops are available with just one retailer.
