I am using with asus latop Win 7 64 bit and Dragon Dictate and seems to work fine. Installed using windows default drivers . However the microphone preamplifier does seem to be sensitive to mains “hum” and it failed the dragon dictate mic test on my work dell laptop. (xp) The only way I have found to cure this is to unplug the mains power on the dell while using the mic.
I have both of these using Windows XP Pro. The 530 microphone feature won’t work with XP pro after multiple tweeking and configurations (updating the bios even) on different computers using the same operating system. The H555 however, plugs and plays with absolutely no problems. Its a dream to use but seem like a cheaper build quality than the 530. The 530 is a sweet looking device with an infrared light that goes on and off when muting the microphone (even tho the mic didn’t work) and it also sports up to date features like push button volume control and EQ settings on the earpiece. The H555 is very clear for mic use, but not very good with audio. The 530 is superior with audio between the 2.The H555 is more expensive, but IMO the lesser of the 2. If only I could get the 530’s mic to work!
