Chinese site GizChai has leaked an upcoming smartphone by Gionee that can prove to be a serious competition for other high-end handsets in the market. The leaked smartphone is touted as Gionee ELIFE E6, which is the successor of the Gionee ELIFE E3. The Gionee E6 packs double the hardware of the E3. The smartphone features 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core SoC and 13MP camera.
The Gionee E6 is equipped with a 5 inch 1080p display and is powered by the latest MT6589T Quadcore Chipset clocked at 1.5Ghz. It packs 2GB of RAM too. The Gionee E6 is also reported to have 13MP primary camera with BSI sensor and auto focus capable of Full HD recording at 30fps. There is also a 5MP front facing camera, which allows users to capture 720p video and have amazing self-portrait mode.
The only thing you should be worried about E6 is it’s battery. The 8mm slim smartphone packs a 2,000mAH battery.
On the software side, it runs Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). Official unveiling of the Gionee E6 will take place in Beijing on July 10th. The price could be somewhere between $320 and $360. Availability will be announced in the event. With MediaTek’s SoC supporting both 42Mbps HSPA+ and TD-SCDMA the flagship smartphone is likely destined to China, India and other APAC nations.
