MWC 2012 – ViewSonic Introduces World’s First ICS Dual-SIM Smartphone, ViewPhone 4s

ViewSonic is really on the roll at MWC 2012, introducing a whole lot of devices during the event. It seems the Android market is about to get a serious contender in the form of ViewSonic who, apart from Android 4.0 tablets, has also introduced world’s first ever Ice Cream Sandwich dual-SIM smartphone. The specs of the device are fairly impressive too. Read further for details.

ViewPhone 4s comes with a 3.5-inch display and a 1GHz processor. The rear camera of the phone is 5-megapixel. It also has a front-facing VGA camera. The ICS experience on a smartphone is also something which cannot be understated, so that adds another plus to the device.

The dual-SIM feature of ViewPhone 4s is definitely what stands it apart from all other Android smartphone devices. You can tool two SIMs at the same time, while maintaining contacts and messages of both these SIMs separately. You also get to have the choice of selecting different voicecall and message ringtones for both SIMs.

At the booth at MWC 2012, the device is not running ICS yet but ViewSonic promises that by the time it ships, ICS will be well in place. The device is expected to be released in Europe by June and will then reach US shortly in August. Exact pricing details are unknown but ViewSonic says that it is ‘sub $499.’
