Apple Gearing Up To Release A 128GB iPad

According to certain inside sources close to Apple, the company is gearing up to launch a new iPad model. However, the model wouldn’t be a significant upgrade except that it will come with 128GB of storage space, an option as yet unavailable in current iPad lineup.

According to 9to5mac, the new model packing 128GB of storage space will be available in both black and white colors. Moreover, it will be offered with the options of Wi-Fi-only or Wi-Fi+cellular networks.

We have been hearing about a new iPad release since quite some time but in all honesty, if Apple comes out with an all-new tablet this time of the year, it may come as a disappointment to owners of iPad mini and fourth-generation iPad. The company needs to take a respite before dishing out newer models so as to sustain a long-term user base.

And if the report by 9to5mac is true, Apple is playing smart by preparing a new iPad which comes only with a storage space upgrade. The company internally deems the 16GB iPad models as ‘GOOD’, the 32GB models as ‘BETTER’ and finally, the 64GB slates as ‘BEST.’ The new model that Apple is readying has been found to be referred to as ‘ULTIMATE’ internally. That clearly hints that the company has a 128GB tablet up its sleeve.

The 128GB option will be offered only on the iPad 4 lineup. It is unclear whether or not Apple will introduce an iPad mini refresh alongside.
