When Intel’s CEO Brian Krzanich made the company’s third-quarter earnings call, he also talked about the Bay Trail chips and mentioned that it would arrive in November of this year. In the mean time, Dell has started taking pre-order for its Intel quad-core Bay Trail processor powered 8-inch tablet, running Windows 8.1 OS.
The upcoming 8-inch tablet is called Venue 8 Pro. It features quad-core Intel Atom Z3740D “Bay Trail” processor which has up to 1.8GHz of speed, a 32GB flash drive, and 2GB Single Channel DDR3L-RS 1600MHz RAM. The Venue 8 Pro comes in 8-inch IPS display with 1,280×800 resolution which features 189 pixels per inch (PPI). It costs $299.
Dell also has launched another Intel 4th Generation Core “Haswell” processor powered XPS 15 Touch Windows 8.1 laptop. The laptop comes with an Apple-Retina-busting optional QHD+ 3,200×1,800 15.6-inch touch screen and is powered by Intel HD 4400 graphics. It has a storage of up to a 512GB of SSD. The price of the laptop starts at $1,499.
Apart from these, Dell is also selling Venue 7. Its price starts at $149.99 and comes with an older Intel Atom Z2560 processor. On the other side, the Venue 8 starts at $179.99 with a previous-generation Intel Z2580 Atom processor.
