Nexus 7 Tablet Might Be Unveiled Next Week At Google I/O

In December 2011, Google chairman Eric Schmidt said that Google is working with Asustek on its first own-brand tablet. Industry insiders are speculating that the 7-inch Nexus tablet will finally be revealed next week at Google I/O, a developer conference to be held from June 27-29 at San Francisco’s Moscone Center in the US. Nexus tablet is manufactured by Quanta Computer and its initial price tag has been set at $199, according to multiple reports.

The 7-inch Nexus tablet shipping has already started and it will be available at major online stores from July. Google is expecting at least three million units will be shipped in the second half of the year. The tablet supports Wi-Fi and is preloaded Google Chrome web browser. Nexus 7 has a front side webcam for video conferencing.

Though Google did not confirmed the specs of upcoming Nexus 7 tablet, it is expected that details will be available at Google I/O developer conference. Reportedly, Asustek Chairman Jonney Shih and Goole’s top authority will reveal the device.
