Polaroid, the renowned camera and film maker, has decided to launch a 10-inch Android tablet with glasses-free 3D display in Europe. As a new entrant in the tablet computer market, it will be difficult for Polaroid to gain a sizable market share. Because, tablet manufacturing giants like Asus, Sony, Samsung and Fujitsu already dominate the tablet market.
According to the British website Expert Reviews, Polaroid has confirmed that it plans to launch a 10-inch Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) tablet with a glasses-free 3D display in Europe.
The Polaroid tablet will have Wi-Fi, 1024 x 768 resolution (4:3 aspect ratio), 1.5GHz ARM-based processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a memory card reader supporting up to 32GB of additional space. This tablet also will have a HDMI output for the ability to play 1080p HD video on an external display.
Polaroid said – European retailers are now taking pre-orders for the tablet at €249, although an official European release date has not yet been announced. US availability and pricing has also not been publicized, while an official name on the device is still to be determined.
