Samsung Re-Considering Galaxy Tab 10.1 Price After Following Apple iPad 2

Apple recently released the iPad 2. It is more awesome and spectacular than the original iPad. The whole world wants to involve themselves with the amazing iPad 2 since it was announced. There is no competition between any other tablet with the Apple’s second-generation tablet till now. Interestingly, Samsung who is considered as one of Apple’s main competitor is now planning to reconsider about Galaxy Tab and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 devices after judging the Apple iPad 2, according to the South Korea’s news agency report.

The report claims that a Samsung executive has revealed that the company wants to improve the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in order to compete directly with the iPad 2.

Lee Don-joo, executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile division, said that Apple has presented new challenges for the South Korean company with a thinner mobile gadget that is priced the same as its predecessor.

“We will have to improve the parts that are inadequate,” Lee told Yonhap News Agency. “Apple made it very thin.”

Samsung may also consider the pricing of the Galaxy Tabs as iPad 2 has outbid every one by keeping the same price.

The 7-inch Galaxy Tab was priced at nearly US$900 without a two-year contract from mobile operators, while the price of the iPad 2 starts at $499, with the most expensive model costing $829. Samsung did not announce the pricing details for the 10.1-inch tablet.

“The 10-inch (tablet) was to be priced higher than the 7-inch (tablet) but we will have to think that over,” Lee added.

Steve Jobs made it clear in his keynote at the iPad 2 launch event, that 2011 will not be the year of the copycats.
