Surface RT will officially step out of Microsoft’s retail shops from today. Staples is the first retailer to start selling Surface RT tablets besides Microsoft’s own stores and website.
Rumors of such a development has been abuzz in the past week. It is now officially confirmed by Staples through a press release. The retailer will be selling Surface RT tablets at the same price as Microsoft.
This move could significantly boost Surface RT’s reach. Staples has nearly 1,900 retail stores, when Microsoft has just 31 permanent and 34 holiday pop-up stores. That means, more people will have the opportunity to toy with Surface RT tablets before they can make a decision.
