Like any messaging software, Skype uses a contact list. Keeping your contacts list safe is very important and if you don’t make backup on regular bases you can lose your data. This tutorial will show you how you can quickly and easily backup and in case of failure restore your Skype contacts list.

Save Skype contacts

Step 1: Open Skype and click on Contacts

Step 2: From dropdown menu choose Advanced and click on Backup contacts to a file.

Step 3: Choose a location for your file and name it. Note that your backup file is saved as .vcf format

Your contacts are saved. You just have to restore them in case of trouble.

Step 1: Open Skype and click on Contacts

Step 2: From dropdown menu choose Advanced and click on Restore contacts from File

Step 3: Located your backup files and click Open
