Google Chrome Becomes The World’s Most Used Browser

Google Chrome has been trailing Internet Explorer for a long time. It was expected that it will soon overtake IE and now, this has happened. According to the latest set of data from Statcounter, Google Chrome is now the most used web browser online, beating Internet Explorer to secure the top spot.

The top five browsers, as is manifest in the data from Statcounter, are Opera, Firefox, IE, Chrome and Safari. The interesting part is that not only is Google a winner in the realm of browser, it has also topped all the others when it comes to the mobile platform.

Google’s Android browser, Android Robot, has been able to overtake Opera and has, thus, become the most popular and most used browser across mobile devices. Ever since Google launched its Chrome browser back in 2008, the browser has been a major hit. It’s light, fast and Google keeps releasing extensions and updates for it. Moreover, it is also considered one of the most secure browsers.

However, Microsoft is also not going down that easily and has launched a campaign to keep IE popular. While that is not particularly happening, the usage IE 9 has somewhat surged in recent times and a lot of users have responded that IE 9 is indeed a huge improvement from Microsoft.

While this may be a temporary win for Chrome, Chrome is bound to be on the top given the pace at which it is amassing users and is gaining momentum.
