The name of the 12-year-old boy hasn’t been unveiled to media, but it’s been mentioned that he is a 5th grade student and has been passionate about computers since he was nine years old. However, the unnamed boy has confirmed that he has hacked several commercial websites including the website of Montreal police, the Quebec Institute of Public Health and the Chilean government.

The authorities have said that the boy launched distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks, defaced websites, and accessed users’ data and leaked them from their servers. On the other side, the boy has confirmed that he provided information to Anonymous in return for video games.

The court has estimated that the boy did $60,000 (€41,700) worth of damage. However, he’ll be sentenced next month.
