HTC Chief Executive Peter Chou took the stage at Qualcomm’s Uplinq conference in Sad Diego o talk about Android and Windows Phone 7 and HTC is the top global supplier of Android phones. The latest statistics about internet browser market shares reveal that both Chrome and IE9 have seen gains and Chrome gained 0.58 per cent in May, reaching 12.52 per cent of the total market, putting it in third place overall. IE9 grew from 2.4 per cent to 4.2 per cent, but this was offset for Microsoft by drops for older versions of IE. The top four browser versions are IE8, IE6, Firefox 4, then Chrome 11 and Firefox 5 is expected later in the month………….
Asustek is preinstalling Canonical’s Ubuntu operating system for the first time in some netbooks to target the Linux market and Asus has started shipping from June 1 three Eee PC models, the 1001PXD, 1011PX and 1015PX, with Ubuntu 10.10 pre-installed. The OS has been configured to work with the processor and networking hardware on the netbooks, one of the first PC makers to ship netbooks, offering the Eee PC with multiple versions of the Linux OS including Xandros starting in 2007…………..
