January 2012 will see Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer taking the stage at CES once again to deliver a keynote focusing on the Redmond company’s latest products and Windows 8 is claimed to be the main course with Ballmer being expected to show off the latest build of the upcoming OS. Microsoft is expected to deliver a beta copy of the next-generation operating system at its BUILD developer conference in September and Ballmer will likely demo a number of ARM and Intel based Windows 8 tablets that will hit the market later in 2012 when Windows 8 is generally available………..

Sony Working For New PSN Design

Sony’s PlayStation Network went down briefly on Tuesday and Sony is reportedly testing a redesign to the PSN that will feature a more streamlined user interface, among other changes. Sony’s planning to make it more image-driven taking cues from both Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE and Valve’s Steam, the new look is described by an aesthetic layout with logically marked sections and rolodex lists. The new design will also reportedly host a slew of fresh features including a new live search function, a new movie section built with its own IMDB-style database and also newly organized games section within the PlayStation Store…………

Microsoft Forcasts Its Kinect To Be Used For Medical Health Care

Microsoft have expressed interest in seeing the Kinect being used in operating rooms or doctors offices and this could also allow patients to attend therapy sessions which they would normally would have not due to the distance they’d have to travel. Doctors could also use the Kinect to call up patient files just by speaking the name of his/her patient and scroll through the data with swipes and gestures.
