A giant gaping hole in the ground has suddenly opened up in the middle of the city street intersection of Ciudad de Guatemala. Looking at the picture would give anyone the creeps, like looking down straight into hell. We can’t see these pictures without getting vertigo.
A sinkhole is a natural depression caused by the removal of underground soil by water. Usually, it happens when the substrate is formed by limestone, carbonate rock, salt beds or any other rock that is easily eroded by water streams. The process could be slow, but sometimes the land just cracks open without notice. In this case, it happened suddenly, swallowing an entire house. The cause: Massive underground water torrents created by tropical storm Agatha.
Sinkholes’ size ranges from low terrain depressions to hundred of meters. At least one local newspaper is reporting one person dead, but the authorities have not confirmed it. Some neighbors claim that a whole three-story building and a house fell into the hole.

Its Horrible. We are living in a risky world.
I'm a Guatemalan citizen, actually 1 person died in his house. All the people living in the 3-story building had just left the building minutes ago when it all collapsed! Hole is about 40 meters in diameter and about 600+ meters deep.
Also it happened just one day after the Volcano Pacaya exploded near Guatemala City, we had about 9 hours of ashes comming from the sky. Huge eruption by this volcano, and 2 days later Agatha storm comes and floods the country! Scary stuff!
