AOC Announces 16-inch Portable USB Monitor

Showcased back in June at the (CEA) Line Show in New York, the e1649fwu 16-inch portable monitor from AOC is now closing in fast with retail availability (in the US) being planned for October and this monitor doesn’t require a power or VGA connection, but instead gets its power/video feed from a USB port on a laptop or desktop. Priced at $139, the AOC e1649fwu also includes a fold-up stand and can be propped up in both portrait and landscape and the 16:9 TFT screen packs 1366×768 resolution with promise of AOC that it won’t immediately suck all the life out of your laptop………………….

Desk Pets TankBot With Android And iOS Support

Exhibited during Toy Fair 2011 in New York, Desk Pets’ TankBot has joined the likes of the HELO TC, Sphere and AR Drone in the growing ranks of smartphone-controlled gizmos and the US$25 bot has individually powered tiny tank-tracks and infrared sensors for free-roaming and maze solving modes. Remote control works using a dongle that plugs into the smartphone’s headphone jack along with the free iOS 4.2 and Android compatible app and the ange is quite limited though, offering up to 3m (9.8ft) and the remote must be pointed toward the front black screen of the Tankbot to work properly. A single 40-minute charge allows the toy to operate for 15 minutes and it has headlights for eyes that flash when the toy is idle………………

Add Photos To Twitter Via MMS

Twitter has announced that you can now post photos to the service via MMS and this service is only available on some carriers initially, AT&T, Verizon and Cellular South in the US, Vodafone, O2 and Orange in the UK, and Rogers in Canada, plus Vodafone Italy, VIVA Bahrain and TIM Brazil, but Twitter also said hat it’s working to bring the feature to additional carriers. To share a photo through Twitter the customer just needs to send it as an MMS to the shortcode and the messages will then be taken from any MMS bundles they may have or charged at the standard MMS rate……………….

HTC Raider 4G For South Korea, Looks Like AT&T’s Holiday

HTC Raider 4G arrives bearing South Korean LTE, looks a lot like the Holiday. The HTC Raider 4G features Google’s Android 2.3.4 OS with Sense UI and features a 4.5-inch qHD display, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, and an 8-megapixel camera. The phone offers support for 4G LTE, as well as Asia’s 2,100MHz 3G network, which can theoretically hit 21Mbps download speeds. A front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera, a 1,620mAh battery, and the standard fare of connectivity options in Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth. The manufacturer hasn’t revealed any plans for an international release, though rumor has it that this Holiday-like device may be heading to AT&T at some point. Adobe Systems has launched Flash Player 11 and Adobe AIR 3, enabling 3D games over the Internet to nearly all PCs and many other devices. Adobe is finally enabling 3D games inside its Flash media player and its Adobe Air software coming in October.
