HTC Bought Dashwire For User Data Backup Service

HTC purchases DashwireHTC has announced the purchase of Dashwire, a Seattle-based company that provides cloud services for Android, Windows Mobile, and Symbian smartphones and the purchase ould be worth as much as $18.5 million, which is said to strengthen HTC’s cloud services, but could also provide much-needed patents to the Taiwanese company. DirecTV Interested In Buying Hulu

DirecTV confirmed Thursday that the satellite TV company was among many potential bidders for online video service Hulu and buying the company from its parents — The Walt Disney Co., News Corp., Comcast Corp. and Providence Equity Partners, could bolster DirecTV’s efforts to allow its customers to watch their video packages on mobile devices.
