Vibrating Glove Prototype To Improve The Wearer’s Sense Of Touch

Researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology have found a way to significantly enhance the wearer’s natural sense of touch and the secret is a technologically enhanced glove that taps into these hidden powers with vibration. The prototype device features an actuator to produce ultra-frequency vibration and the actuator is made-up of lead zirconate titanate layers, which are piezoelectric that produces an electrical charge on the application of a mechanical force. It is fixed to the fingertip’s side to help the wearer to continue his normal work and the scientists tested the device on 10 volunteers who did common motor skill and sensory jobs such as grasp tests, single-point touch, two-point discrimination and texture discrimination…………………

First Artificial Neural Network Out Of DNA

Scientists at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) have successfully created an artificial neural network using DNA molecules that is capable of brain-like behavior and potential applications of such artificially intelligent biochemical networks with decision-making skills include medicine and biological research. These microorganisms did not have brains, but instead had molecules that interacted with each other and spurred the creatures to search for food and avoid toxins and the Caltech used DNA molecules specifically for the experiment…………….

Planar Fourier Capture Array Microscopic Camera

Cornell University engineers have developed a camera that does not require lenses, which is pinhead sized, is intended for research use and expected to revolutionize everything from surgery to micro-robotics. The lensless creation is only one 100th of a millimeter thick, looks more like a miniature CD and doesn’t require any budget-breaking parts, given the rather clunky name Planar Fourier Capture Array because it draws upon the principles of the Fourier transform, a mathematical tool that allows multiple ways of capturing the same information……………

Facebook Blocking Google+ Facebook Friend Exporter

Facebook has blocked a Google Chrome extension that let you export information about your Facebook friends so that data can be shuttled into competing services and the extension had become particularly popular of late as a means of moving friends data into Google’s latest Facebook challenger Google+. Scammers are exploiting the fact that Google+’s field testing is a close and they are leveraging Facebook 500 million+ users by offering a free hot, in-demand, valuable, invitation to test Google’s social network Google+ just by doing something Facebook users do all the time………..

Apple Co-Founder: Apple Already Won Against Android

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak was awarded an honorary doctorate from Concordia University in Montreal and as he has been wont to do quite a bit recently. He get a chance to use his acceptance speech as an opportunity to talk about super-intelligent robots, futuristic androids and the ever present danger of machines enslaving humans. He said the world needs engineers and computer scientists, because they have the tools to solve many of the world’s problems and also told the students that university is where they learn how to learn for the rest of their lives……….
