Philippe Starck, a well-known French designer, was reported yesterday to have divulged that he has been working on a ‘revolutionary’ Apple project that is due to be unveiled within the next eight months. As it turns, Apple has stated that Starck’s claims are absurd and that Apple hasn’t worked on any such project with him.
It’s rather surprising to note that a designer like Starck would go on to state something which is false in all probability. Besides, it was pretty amusing in the first place that first he told that he was working on a truly ‘revolutionary’ project and then when he was asked about the details, he refused them on the pretext that Apple was being secretive about it. So long for being secretive by attracting the world’s attention with the first part of his statement.
Apple is indeed known for its secrecy and usually, the personnel involved on a certain Apple project are bound not to reveal any details about it. In more than one ways, this goes on to make Apple what it is – a mysterious company that may reveal a truly surprising product.
Take away the element of surprise from Apple and it may become yet another boring tech company. So I’d say most of us wouldn’t want to know more about Apple than we are told, unless of course we were trading shares in the stock market.
