Ever since his demise, Steve Jobs has been hailed as the true face of Silicon Valley and of tech entrepreneurship. Many had speculated earlier that we may see a movie about Jobs soon. And now, rumors are abound that Ashton Kutcher will be playing the character of Steve Jobs in an independent movie about him.
This hasn’t been confirmed yet, specifically because of the fact that the news was broke by Variety’s Jeff Sneider on April 1st. Naturally, most of those who read about it dismissed it as April Fool’s Day joke. However, Sneider repeatedly tweeted from his account that the news were authentic and that Kutcher was actually playing the role.
According to Sneider, the film is expected to be about Steve Job’s founding of Apple and then his consequence ouster and return. However, the last years of his life won’t be depicted in the film.
The choice of Kutcher as Jobs for the movie is in itself quite intriguing. This is because Kutcher has been said to bear a resemblance with Jobs in his looks. Moreover, Kutcher is also a tech enthusiast and has been investing in many tech startups. He also maintains a very active social profile and has a massive fan-following on Twitter. The actor is known for being a part of the popular TV show ‘Two and a half men.’
Whether or not this bit of information is true, will probably be revealed over the course of the next few days. And Kutcher or not, tech enthusiasts will still look forward to a movie about Steve Jobs.
