Nokia is the world’s largest cellphone maker by volume in the whole world. They have done great business in the global market over the past few years with the rise of Smart-phones. But Nokia has started a very bad year with the fine of $58,000 in Australia. Guess what? The huge amount of fine is only for sending spam texts to customers.
According to the Australian Communications and Media Authority, Nokia sent some texts to clients as tips. In the message there is no ‘Unsubscribe’ option. These tips were absolutely harmless and being hoped that newbies will welcome it as they can get more out of their phones. But, it is still considered to be a spam text Down Under. In fact, Nokia is shocked and has promptly announced that they have discontinued the service in that part of the world while ramping it down in other countries.
